It encompasses three other major components, all open to the communitya speech and language therapy program, an evaluation center, and a teacher-training program.  Shelton is actively involved with research and collaborates with major medical institutions in the Dallas area, including Childrens Medical Center and UT Southwestern Medical Center. The Shelton School is a co-educational, non-sectarian school that serves approximately 900 students with learning differences in grades EC to 12. Position Overview
This Testing Coordinator supports the school-wide assessment process by administering, scoring, and analyzing cognitive and academic tests for both prospective students (admissions) and currently enrolled students (Early Childhood through Upper School). The Testing Coordinator also supports college admissions testing, including the PSAT, Pre-ACT, SAT, and ACT for enrolled students receiving accommodations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master’s degree or doctorate in psychology, education, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, or a related field required.
  • Preferred: Licensed Educational Diagnostician or Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP).
  • Demonstrated experience administering and utilizing Q-Interactive/Q-Global
  • Demonstrated experience administering and analyze IQ and academic assessments (e.g., WISC-V, KTEA-3, WIAT-IV, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PSAT, SAT, ACT, and the accommodations request process for College Board and ACT.
  • Comfortable leading discussions with parents and collaborating with educators.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines independently.
  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • High degree of discretion and respect for student confidentiality.
  • Proficient with computer systems and open to learning new platforms and tools.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a shared department vision.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience supporting standardized testing coordination and accommodations at the school level.
  • Prior experience working in an independent or private school setting.
  • Interest in contributing to training or development opportunities for staff.
Essential Job Functions
  • Administer, score, and analyze standardized cognitive and academic assessments
  • Record, track, and maintain accurate student testing data.
  • Upload testing documentation to appropriate student files and ensure all materials are clearlyfamilies and staff.
  • Arrive promptly according to the hours defined in the employee agreement.
  • Uphold professional standards of punctuality, confidentiality, and collegiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Testing.processes.
  • Support departmental communications, including cover letters and summaries shared within a supportive and positive manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized space that is aesthetically appealing and student-centered.
  • Lead feedback sessions with parents, highlighting patterns of strengths and areas of need.
  • Read test materials aloud to students with accommodations when needed.
  • Present testing insights to faculty in individual, small group, or division-wide sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with Division Heads and the Admissions Department.
  • Attend regular Testing Department and division-specific meetings.
  • Assist with the coordination and facilitation of ACT/SAT testing, including accommodationsstudent advocate.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with parents and colleaguesaccommodations.
  • Communicate with students in a professional, calm, and supportive manner and serve as aand consistently labeled.
